RULES FOR ON-PITCH CONDUCT &

DISCIPLINARY POINTS CODE

1 Conduct

On the field of play is the responsibility of the individual player and the team captain. To help maintain and improve the reputation of the club, the following code of practice is to be followed:

2 DISCIPLINARY POINTS SCHEME

i. Disciplinary points accumulated by Members of the Club will be published in a table for general display in the Clubhouse.

ii. Disciplinary points will be allocated to members in accordance with the table below:

iii. Any Member in receipt of a Red Card will receive an automatic sixteen day ban.

iv. Any Member who accumulates Disciplinary Points will be subject to Club match bans, in accordance with the table below:

10 Points	1 Match Ban
15 Points	Further 1 Match Ban
20 Points	2 Match Ban
25 Points (+)	Referral to Disciplinary Sub-Committee

v. All Match Bans are to commence on the day that the Disciplinary Points total exceeds the stated limits, or the Red Card is awarded.

vi. The Disciplinary Sub-Committee will retain the authority to increase or decrease penalties according to reports received, and to suspend a Match Ban, pending an appeal.

PITCH-SIDE CONDUCT

Once the pitch is available, team managers (if appointed) or the home team captain will assume full responsibility for the pitch and its surrounding area in accordance with Rules for Pitch-Side Conduct Procedure.

OTHER OFFENCES

Any other offences reported to the club will be dealt with by the club Disciplinary Sub Committee in accordance with EH, SCHA, HHA guidelines and club rules.

DISCIPLINARY BOARD

The Disciplinary Board is to consist of the CDO (or nominee) and the Selection Committee less the team captain representing the offending player.

GUIDELINES FOR DISCIPLINARY BOARD

The following factors may be taken into consideration:

a) Umpires report.

b) Standard of umpires

c) Umpires previous record

d) Players record

e) Any other relevant information.

f) Type of game – league/cup/friendly.

A majority decision of the board will prevail.

THE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

GUIDANCE NOTES FOR PITCHSIDE CONDUCT

It is the responsibility of the clubs to ensure that good manners and courtesy prevail towards the opposition, umpires and other officials before, during and after the game.

Once the pitch is available, the Match Delegate (if appointed) or Home Captain shall assume authority for the pitch and its surrounding area.

Clubs are advised to ensure that they have adequate insurance cover and that they are aware of local health and safety legislation regarding the pitch and their facilities.

Captain, Umpires and Match Delegate (if appointed) should:

a. Agree the location of managers, coaches, substitutes and suspended players during their suspension and from where substitutions will take place.

b. Satisfy themselves as to the quality and safety of the pitch and its facilities and ensure that other pitch side furniture is removed to the safest location.

c. Check the availability and location of an emergency telephone and first aid.

d. Agree with home team officials the location and allowed proximity of spectators.

e. Substitutes should warm up in clothing in a colour other than the participating teams in the agreed area of the pitch.

f. Coaches and managers must remain in their designated area.

g. Vocal communication by team officials and players on the bench must not, in any way, be directed at the umpires or players of the opposing team.

h. Players not taking part in the game, or those in subsequent or previous matches, must not knock up or cool down on or near the pitch whilst the match is in progress.

i. Post match inquests should be held away from the pitch.

j. Spectators should be advised, if necessary, of matters relating to their conduct and particularly in so far as this affects the game in hand.

k. Small children should not be allowed to wander freely around the perimeter of the pitch whilst games are in progress. Children should remain under the control of the parent/guardian at all times.

l. Babies in push chairs should not be left parked on the side of the pitch.

m. Captains, coaches and managers should be responsible for their own conduct and the conduct of their players at all times.

Contravention of the Guidance Notes of Pitch Side Conduct should be included in any report.

Umpires should advise County/League/Tournament Officials of any abuse of these Guidance Notes.

Directions to John Hanson Pitch from the A303

1. Take the Salisbury road (A343) junction off the A303.
2. At the roundabout turn left (signposted Town Centre) onto Salisbury Road.
3. Follow the road for approximately 0.75 mile.
4. Pass under the A303 Bridge.
5. Go straight over the next roundabout, passing Hexagon stores on the left.
6. Go left at the next roundabout into Floral Way.
7. Follow the road to the right through housing, staying on Floral Way.
8. Go straight over the next roundabout (2^nd exit).
9. John Hanson School is on the Right.

Directions to the Anton Arms Club House from John Hanson Pitch

1. Go back through Floral way to Salisbury Road, at the roundabout, turn left.
2. Continue along Salisbury road for approximately 0.25 mile.
3. Go straight over the next roundabout.
4. The Anton Arms is on the left just past Marchant Road.

Directions to Charlton Astro Pitch from the A303

1. Take the Portway Industrial Estate junction (A343) off the A303.
2. A303 Eastbound: Take the 2^nd exit off the roundabout into Churchill Way (Signposted Portway Ind. Est.)
3. A303 Westbound: Take the 3^rd exit at the roundabout. At the next roundabout take the 2^nd exit into Churchill Way (Signposted Portway Ind. Est.)
4. At the next roundabout take the 1^st exit to West Portway, signposted Charlton Sports and Leisure Centre.
5. Take the next right into Charlton Sports and Leisure Centre.

Directions to the Anton Arms Club House from Charlton Astro Pitch

1. Return to the A303 and go eastbound, signposted London. Stay left when joining the A303 from the roundabout.
2. Take the next junction (Salisbury Road A343).
3. At the roundabout turn left (signposted Town Centre) onto Salisbury Road.
4. Follow the road for approximately 0.75 mile.
5. Go straight over the next roundabout, passing Hexagon stores on the left.
