Get Active with Sport Andover
The next Andover Live event, ‘Get Active’, takes
place on Saturday 28 April in Andover’s Vigo Road Park, the Guildhall and High
Street. From 10.00am to 5pm this free
event will show off the range of sports and healthy activities available
locally.
Organised by Sport Andover and the Andover Live team
and sponsored by HSA simply health, ‘Get Active’ will appeal to all ages and
abilities. There’s a wide range of
sports, health and physical activities available in and around the town and
‘have-a-go’ sessions, competitions and demonstrations to see and do. 35 clubs, activity centres and exhibitors
have already booked to take part. There
will also be the chance to discuss techniques and tactics with a range of
experts. For anyone who’s really
inspired by what they see, there will be an opportunity to 'pledge' to do their
bit in 2007.
A lively atmosphere will be helped along by 210FM's
Foxy and Tom (from the morning show) throughout the day while visitors try the
climbing wall, bungy running, shoot-for-goal, or just relax watching the street
entertainers or one of the dozens of activities on display.
A health screening area will provide blood pressure
and cholesterol checks and, as an alternative to sports, there will also be
health walks, dance and fitness sessions to try out. Plenty of healthy food will be on offer too.
More information will be available
shortly on the Sport Andover website
